The Savannah Center in The Villages is a performance and exhibition space with a full schedule, along with additional space that serves as a recreation center.

The Scarlett O’Hara Theater at Savannah Center has a large stage for musical performances and off Broadway shows and a large floor space for formal and casual dances. Popular arts and crafts festivals are held throughout the year in the exhibition area.

The brick colonial style of architecture, with large white columns in front, may give the impression of a university hall or a plantation house, but it is a real performance space. Seasonal events, like the Nutcracker, are held in this center, and the elegant facade adds something special to these festive occasions.

Savannah Center has hosted a lot of great musical acts throughout the years including Davy Jones of The Monkees (2011), Willie Nelson (2013), and many more.

Some of the other shows are tribute bands/acts performing songs or skits by The Beatles, the Bee Gees, Chicago, the Johnny Carson show and other famous acts. Local bands and other talents also perform at the center. Celebrities and entertainers known around the world speak at the center throughout the year as well.

Savannah Center also hosts the yearly “State of The Villages” address by the developer, and it is also home to the USF Health in The Villages Lecture Series.

The center holds about 900 people, but some guests complain about the chairs being crammed in too tightly.

In addition to the performing arts and exhibition space, there is also the recreation center portion of Savannah Center that includes 2 sport pools for activities like water aerobics, water volleyball, and lap swimming. There are meeting rooms that hold club functions and other activities, a computer lab, 4 bocce courts, 4 shuffleboard courts, and more.

The center is located on the southeast corner of Buena Vista Boulevard and El Camino Real.
