The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, a 6-foot-tall, 300-foot-long, 3/5-scale model of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., is coming back to The Villages area!
The traveling memorial is scheduled to be at the Lady Lake soccer field from November 1-5.
I don’t know how many Villagers are Vietnam veterans (quite a few I'm sure!), but back in 2015, the last time the wall visited this area, more than 30,000 people turned out to see it! [The Villages Daily Sun]
In other news…

According to an article in The Villages Daily Sun, 90 instructors will lead 216 courses, and more than 5,000 seats have sold so far. [The Villages Daily Sun]
The tennis fan in me cannot resist a good tennis story, and this week I have a few tennis related stories to share with you.
First up, a recent article in The New York Times cited a danish study that named tennis (and other racket and team sports) as the best activities for those wanting to live a longer life. [The New York Times]
What does that have to do with The Villages you might ask? Well pickleball, which is very similar to tennis, and extremely popular in The Villages, was cited in a Japanese study for it's positive benefits on mental health. [The Villages Daily Sun]
The moral of the story? Just keep swinging!
Now, how about the son of a Villager taking part in the first tennis match in space. How cool is this?
