The Fourth of July tends to take on a relaxing vibe in The Villages. While many residents prefer to spend the holiday relaxing at home, there are still plenty of entertainment options to be found if you are looking for them.

The Villages Independence Day Ceremony

An Independence Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park of The Villages on Sunday, July 4, at 2 p.m.

See the schedule of events for that here.

Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing Live Entertainment

Hoping to avoid the crowds but still be entertained?

Both of those events will run from 5pm to 9pm.

Fireworks Near The Villages

The projector light show is a nice touch, but if it doesn’t quite feel like the Fourth to you without fireworks, you will have to go for a little drive.

Here are some great places to check out fireworks near The Villages:

Mount Dora (July 3rd)

Mount Dora is known for its annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks, but this year, the fireworks will actually take place on July 3rd!

Festivities begin at 4 PM with live music, featuring  Kid’s Zone with lots of fun activities, food trucks, beverages, and plenty of fun for everyone. Live entertainment this year will be featuring Sean Holcomb, Nashville artist Bailey Callahan, and Diamond Dixie.

The festivities at Elizabeth Evans Park will end with a spectacular fireworks over Lake Dora.

More information available here.

Leesburg (July 4th)

The biggest fireworks show that is close to The Villages happens every year in Leesburg.

This year is no different, as they have tons of excitement planned for visitors.

Fabulous entertainment begins at 6pm on the Jenkins Auto Group Stage with the band Hypersona.

A Free Kids Zone filled with bounce houses, slides, and other inflatables.

A water ski show will take place at 7:30 pm and Fireworks start at 9pm.

More information available here.

Ocala

It does not appear there will be any public fireworks shows in Ocala this year:

A big dud: No public July 4th fireworks planned in Ocala/Marion County (Ocala Star Banner)

Walt Disney World and Epcot

If the grandchildren are visiting, the Fourth of July is usually a great time to take them to Walt Disney World.

Fireworks are finally returning to Walt Disney World and Epcot on July 1, but the “special” holiday fireworks are reportedly on hold for the time being.
