4th of July Events Around The Villages

by Ryan Erisman | Originally Published: July 1, 2013 | Updated On: June 30, 2023

The Fourth of July tends to take on a relaxing vibe in The Villages. While many residents prefer to spend the holiday relaxing at home, there are still plenty of entertainment options to be found if you are looking for them.

Patriotic Spectacular

This will take place on July 3rd at Savannah Center. According to the description on The Villages Entertainment website:

Join The Bands of the Villages in our annual celebration of America.  Members of 3 separate concert bands combine to perform a variety of patriotic music.  You’ll hear music from Civil War, John Philip Sousa and Broadway. This year’s concert will be directed by Anthony Maiello, a nationally renowned conductor, Anthony is presently Professor of Music and director of Instrumental Studies at George Mason University Fairfax, Virginia.

There are two shows, one at 3pm and another at 7pm and tickets are $15. More details here.

The Villages Independence Day Ceremony

An Independence Day ceremony is held at Veterans Memorial Park of The Villages on July 4, at 10 a.m.

You can check their Facebook page for any further details they may provide.

All American Brews and Cruise at Brownwood Paddock Square

The highlight of 4th of July Events in The Villages for 2023 promises to be the All American Brews and Cruise taking place at Brownwood Paddock Square from 4pm to 9pm.

The event will feature entertainment by The Clark Barrios Band, Aloha O’ Ka Hula, The Villages Cheerleaders, The Villages Twirlers & Drum Corp, Prime Time Twirlers, and more.

In previous years the event has ended with a projection light show at 8:45 but so far I haven’t seen anything about that for 2023.

American Classic Cars will be on display presented by The Villages Classic Automobile Club and The Villages Vettes Corvette Club.

Enjoy market vendors and popular food trucks like Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Curbside Cuisine, Island Fin Poke, BBQ Brazil Express, Kettle Corn Cabin, Kona Ice, and more.

And as the name of the event suggests, there should be plenty of craft brew on tap.

Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing Live Entertainment

Hoping to avoid the crowds but still be entertained?

4th of July entertainment for Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing for 2023 has not been announced at the time of this update.

Fireworks Near The Villages

The (potential) projection light show in Brownwood is a nice touch, but if it doesn’t quite feel like the Fourth to you without fireworks, you will have to go for a little drive.

Here are some great places to check out fireworks near The Villages:

Lady Lake (July 1)

The Town of Lady Lake is set to host its inaugural fireworks celebration on Saturday, July 1.

Zambelli Fireworks, which have been launching for over 100 years, will illuminate the skies over Town with an 18-minute show starting at 9:15 p.m.

Between 5 and 9 p.m., participants can enjoy a multitude of food trucks, bounce houses, and live music with Voodoo Vibe at the Guava Street Athletic Complex, culminating with a colorful and captivating fireworks display that is sure to delight attendees of all ages.

The community is invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment. Glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Additional viewing locations with free public parking include the Rolling Acres Sports Complex, Lady Lake Public Library, Log Cabin at Veterans Park, Snooky Park, and the First Baptist Church of Lady Lake.

More details are available here.

Wildwood (July 3rd)

On July 3rd from 5pm to 10pm Wildwood will host “Happy Birthday America” at Millennium Park with kid zone, adult beverage area, live music, food trucks, and… according to them…the best fireworks show in Sumter County.

Mount Dora (July 3rd)

Festivities in Mount Dora begin at 5 PM with live music, featuring Kid’s Zone with lots of fun activities, food trucks, beverages, and plenty of fun for everyone.

The festivities at Elizabeth Evans Park will end with spectacular fireworks over Lake Dora.

Leesburg (July 4th)

The biggest fireworks show that is close to The Villages happens every year at Venetian Gardens in Leesburg.

The festivities officially kick off at 3pm, but the opening ceremony at the Lightning Baseball Game starts at 5:00pm.

There are tons of fun things to do for the kids too. A Free Kids Zone at Ski Beach filled with bounce houses, slides, and other inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist, juggler, stiltwalker and even a photo booth to capture memories and just have fun! And of course, all sorts of festive foods will be available and fun vendors.

The Largest Fireworks display in Lake County will start at 9:00pm. It’s great viewing from all around Venetian Cove or from your own boat at the Boat Tailgate Party located between Monkey Island and the boat ramp at Venetian Cove Marina.

More information is available here.

Tavares (July 4th)

The City of Tavares 4th of July celebration will be held Tuesday, July 4th from 4:45pm to 9:30 pm at Wooten Park in Tavares. Starting with the parade along Main Street. The family-friendly event features live music, community vendors, food trucks, a family fun zone, FIREWORKS, and more!

I definitely see a slowing in the villages which was the hottest real estate market in the country for over 2 years. I would see a house listing come up and the home was already contingent or pending at well over asking with dozens of offers.
Now the homes are sitting on the market for a while with price reductions occurring. The trend is certainly swinging in favor of the buyer now.

We love “inside the Bubble” We have lived here for about 10 years. One of my big issues is that the Villages does not (to my knowledge) publish the regular events that happen every year. We plan ahead for visitors to make sure there are things to do. Do you have a list of the yearly events that always happen? thanks, darlene and Mike

Ryan, I’ve been meaning to thank you. We have your book and have followed you for a very long time. Last March we finally did it! Now we have our own winter escape in the Villages. Having watched the area develop since 1990 it was such an easy decision.
Even though we are no longer just Village dreamers we love Inside the Bubble and will continue to direct people to you.
