I continue to track all the latest news and updates as it relates to coronavirus in The Villages.

You can read this week’s coronavirus updates here.

This week I got an email from a reader named Rusty Nelson.

Rusty has started a YouTube channel to document his journey to The Villages, starting with a call to set up a lifestyle visit and continuing on from there.

I think it’s a neat idea and if you are also contemplating a visit to The Villages you should subscribe to his channel and follow along on his journey.

Here’s his first episode explaining who he is and what he plans to do:

Villagers have to make a choice, and there are passionate people on both sides of the issue.

No, I’m not talking about Trump vs. Biden.

I’m talking about Gas vs. Electric carts of course!

This week The Villages Newcomers put together a pretty cool video highlighting the pros and cons of both.

Check it out:

That’s all I’ve got for this week.

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you back here next week!

  1. Great Info on the Golf Carts. We just purchased a home in the villages and that is one of our major concerns. Thanks! Raymond & Laura Gribble

  2. There is a new electric golf cart in town. We just purchased the first one from Village Discount Golf Carts. It features a lithium ion battery pack similar to the battery pack found in Tesla autos. Range is about 100 miles depending on terrain. This cart is Loaded with options all standard. Touch screen TV that is also the odometer and the speedometer. Back seat with gold down cargo rack and storage compartment below. Cart is very GUI k and is programmable to various speeds. Ours is programmed to 20 mph, which is the legal limit for a golf cart. Above 20 mph can get you an expensive ticket. Above 20mph is a catagory called electric vehicle. This requires it to have everything you car has. Licensed, insurance , inspection, etc. also this ticket is a misdemeanor. Then you have a criminal record. Sounds crazy but it is the law. Happy to show this Evolution cart. By the way “indiscernible the bubble” is awesome. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.

  3. Given the explosive growth of The Villages a guide to navigating unexpected challenges for newbies as well as established neighbors is invaluable.
